About

I’m Brennen Slaney. I am an MBA candidate at Harvard Business School in the class of 2028. Prior to business school, I was an actuary in Nashville. I have worked across healthcare and life reinsurance in a variety of analytics and financial modeling roles. I am curious about learning new things by reading books, building tools and finding a deeper understanding of the world around me.

I am inherently interested in financial markets, data science, and AI, but want to get a lot deeper into the intersection of technology, energy, climate and weather as I find that a fascinating and complex problem our generation can and will solve.

I was born in Atlanta, grew up in Cincinnati, studied Finance and Applied Statistics at the University of Alabama (2016–2019). I lived in Nashville from 2020-2026 working in four different actuarial roles, and moved to Boston in August 2026 for business school. Outside of work I’m a devoted Steelers fan and spend my free time hiking, traveling, reading nonfiction, and building things like this site.
